St Georges Day Flag Raising at Pathfinder House

“Almighty God, we thank you for St George and for all that this flag represents. Bless this flag, that it may be for us a reminder of George’s courage in the face of evil and that there are many dragons to be slain today, such as: poverty, intolerance and even global warming. May it be a sign of our integrity and the honour of all that it means to be a citizen of this land.” Amen.

DISTRICT COUNCIL SUPPORTS ST GEORGE’S DAY

The Chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council flew the red and white flag of St George at Pathfinder House, Huntingdon today (Friday, 23 April) to his show support for England’s national day.

A number of people were there to support him including the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberly Esq, CBE, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Dr Nigel Brown, OBE, Councillor Jeff Dutton, Vice Chairman of the District Council, David Monks, Chief Executive of the district council and Reverend Mark Savage, Team Vicar, Huntingdon Ministry to bless the flag.

Chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council, Councillor John Davies: "We want to show our support on St George's day by flying the flag at our council headquarters. We are fully behind the flying of the flag as it represents England's national day."

The flag raising event was followed by a tea and cake reception.
