DISTRICT COUNCIL SUPPORTS ST GEORGE’S DAY
The Chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council flew the red and white flag of St George at Pathfinder House, Huntingdon today (Friday, 23 April) to his show support for England’s national day.
A number of people were there to support him including the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberly Esq, CBE, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Dr Nigel Brown, OBE, Councillor Jeff Dutton, Vice Chairman of the District Council, David Monks, Chief Executive of the district council and Reverend Mark Savage, Team Vicar, Huntingdon Ministry to bless the flag.
Chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council, Councillor John Davies: "We want to show our support on St George's day by flying the flag at our council headquarters. We are fully behind the flying of the flag as it represents England's national day."
The flag raising event was followed by a tea and cake reception.
