All Saints Church, Hartford - Our Money and Our Giving Did you know: It costs £50,000 to run All Saints Church Hartford each year. We receive no grants or financial support towards our regular running costs. All our Income comes from our congregation and local community. A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who helps and supports us financially – it is vital to us and is greatly appreciated. Our INCOME comes from FOUR main sources: Direct Giving – by the congregation and local community – 60% of our income. Letting – our Church Room is used by private and public organisations – 17% of our income. Fundraising – events held throughout the year – 13% of our income. Parochial Fees – from Weddings and Funerals – 10% of our income. Our EXPENDITURE covers several areas: Ministry Share - paid to the Ely Diocesan Board of Finance which covers the cost of stipendiary ministry (vicars and curates) – 60% of our expenditure. Utilities – for gas, electricity and water and the cost has increased significantly this year – 13% of our expenditure. Mission and Charitable Support – we support a dozen local organisations financially – 7% of our expenditure. Diocesan Fees – fees due to the Diocese from Weddings and Funerals – 7% of our expenditure. Insurance – buildings and contents and it’s not cheap to insure a Grade 2* Listed Building – 5% of our expenditure. Repairs and Maintenance – general repairs and maintenance – 4% of our expenditure. General Expenses – day to day expenses including copying, cleaning, and many smaller miscellaneous costs – 4% of our expenditure. Balancing our books: With the cost of living crisis and huge increase in the cost of energy it will be a challenge to balance our books this year.
